As a family clinic we often see children. Because children are small and respond quickly, less time is needed. This 60 minute intake will usually be broken up into two 30 minute sessions. The first session will be a phone call with the parent to discuss the concerns they have for the child, the second half will be in the office for the treatment. Many children are needle sensitive, Southern Illinois Family Acupuncture uses tuning forks, tui na massage techniques, gusha, and flash cupping as other tools that can be just as effective as a traditional needle treatment in these cases.
